Project Overview
This tarmac road project took place in Lincoln and saw the transformation of a lengthy driveway.
This was a meticulous process that transformed the entire driveway and border using tarmac to enhance the surrounding landscape and increase the space’s functionality.
Challenges
The main challenge of this tarmac road project was the fact it was such a large-scale renovation. This tarmac road project required a lot of cement to ensure a long-lasting, level base for the new surfacing.
Process
For this tarmac road project, we followed these steps to ensure a seamless installation:
1. Turf Excavation
The first stage of this tarmac road project was the excavation and lifting of the turf, to allow for a seamless installation of the new driveway. The turf would be later reinstalled, once the tarmac driveway was in place.
The borders also needed to be excavated to allow our team to transform the space and install the new tarmac road, complete with a block paved border.
2. Cement Sub-Base
Once the original road and turf border had been completely excavated, we had a clean surface to begin priming for the next stages of this tarmac road project.
To ensure that the block paving border and tarmac driveway have a stable foundation, a lot of cement was needed to create a solid, sturdy mortar base.
3. Laying The Border
Next, sleek rectangular blocks were laid to frame the driveway and create a high-quality border.
These high-quality blocks have been chosen for their durability and to complement the overall aesthetic of the new tarmac road. This was a meticulous process, due to the length of the road, but at StoneSet our team take pride in their work and ensures no detail goes unnoticed.
4. Reinstalled Turf
The edges of the tarmac road are laid by hand to ensure precision. Our team carefully reinstalls the turf to complement the new paved borders and allow for a seamless transition between hard and soft landscapes.
5. Resurfacing Road
Now the boundaries are in place and the surrounding landscape has been restored, our team moved their focus to the road itself. Here, we used our Bobcat machinery to remove layers of wear and repair from the road, before following with our asphalt paver to level off the surface and create a solid foundation for the new tarmac driveway.
6. Laying The Tarmac Driveway
With the foundation clear and set, it was time to install the new tarmac road. This was a careful process, done to ensure a seamless result and long-lasting durability.
Once the tarmac had been laid, our team meticulously raked along the edges to ensure an even coverage before it is compacted and set.
