Project Overview
For this resin bound driveway project, the team were sent to Lincoln to transform our client’s home entrance through our impeccable design and installation process. This particular project, completed over five days, is a testament to our ability to create durable, functional and visually appealing driveways to suit all properties.
To ensure the best results for our client, we had to perform a full excavation of the existing driveway to create a solid foundation for the new surface. By creating a new foundation, we could guarantee long-lasting performance and a flawless finish for the new resin bound driveway project, complete with granite edging in a contrasting shade of grey.
Process
To deliver the brand new resin driveway for our client, we offered a comprehensive service which covered the following steps:
1. Excavation and Preparation
The first step in this resin bound driveway project was to excavate the existing area. This is a key step in preparing the site and ensuring the new installation will go as planned, as it allows us to ensure a strong base for the new surface.
With a brand-new, solid foundation we could guarantee that the resin driveway will last a long time and maintain its flawless finish.
2. Sub-Base Installation
Following the excavation of the previous driveway, we began developing the new foundation. For this, we installed a high-quality geotextile membrane as the first layer. This is installed to prevent weed growth and improve the stability of all new surfaces and is often the first step we implement when installing new resin driveways.
Once this layer was installed, we laid a hardcore sub-base which provides the solid foundation for the resin surfacing.
3. Edging Installation
To frame the driveway, we installed Plaspave Sorrento granite stone edgings. These premium edgings not only enhance the aesthetics but also provide structural integrity to the driveway, offering a stunning contrast in colour by being a slightly darker shade than the main surface area.
This set the boundaries for our resin installation as well as complemented the finished driveway.
4. Porous Tarmac Layer
In the boundaries which had just set with the granite edging, we precisely installed a porous tarmac layer. This layer was applied to create a permeable surface that supports water drainage, preventing the new driveway from flooding and maintain it’s durability for years after installation.
5. Resin Bound Finish
Finally, we applied an Oyster Pearl resin bound finish to the driveway to create a sleek, modern appearance to the home. This resin was supplied to us by The Resin Mill and is a premium resin blend thatis durable and low-maintenance, making it the perfect surface for everyday use.
Outcome
Following our work over the five-day period, our clients now have a stunning new resin driveway in Oyster Pearl. As this resin is supplied by The Resin Mill, is not only looks great but is certain to offer years of functionality and pleasure.
To complement the driveway and complete the new appearance to the home’s entrance, we created an edge around the border using Plaspave Sorrento granite stone. This is a stunning contrast to the lighter grey of the driveway and truly finishes the look.
The finished result of this resin bound driveway project was a stunningly modern driveway that is fully porous and environmentally friendly, which our clients were very pleased with;
